getting error when trying to run install.php;

Installation cannot continue, please make sure you have the php-gettext extension loaded!

I am installing on SLES11 with Nagios 3.2.0, and have all the php requirements installed, including:

php5-gettext-5.2.6-50.24.1
php5-mysql-5.2.6-50.24.1
php5-ftp-5.2.6-50.24.1

as well as the HTML_Template_IT.

locale -a shows me a list which includes en_GB.utf8

I have installed this version of NagiosQL and Nagios before, but on a system with slightly older php modules. What am I missing?

Have you restarted apache after installing the additional php modules?

oh, geez, that was it. I could have sworn I'd done that 5 or 6 times already. Good thing I only wasted a few hours on it
