Permissions 2 Years ago Karma: 0
Hi,

I seem to be having issues with permissions and cant see the wood for the trees. Below are the files and permissions. I have also tried changing the permission to 775, which didn't help any. I am using an external database, www-data is correct. Nothing else is different outside the installation instructions. Any help would be appreciated.

Check the permissions of your main configuration directory (etc/nagios or where the configfiles are in) and set its permissions to the same as your services subdirectory inside them.

hmm, maybe i didn't quite follow the documentation!! Thanks for your help.

I am having one other difficulty. I dont seem to be able to restart the nagios process form nagiosql. I am getting the following error:

Nagios daemon is not running, cannot send restart command!

Can you help?

Thanks

This is checked by your pid (or lock) file. Check the path to your nagios.pid or nagios.lock file in settings.ini.

Sorry!! I normally read through the documentation with a fine toothcomb, which I clearly didn't in this case. Once again, thanks for all your help!!
