Hi,

NagiosQL installation should assume nagios is installed in the default location "/usr/local/nagios" or at least provide option during the installation where nagios is installated. I am assuming it is not very hard to detect where nagios is installed. This will make life a lot easier rather than having fiddle with config files.

What do you think NagiosQL users and developers? Is this feasible?

I am also getting the impression that NagiosQL assumes their user base are well versed in Nagios configuration, what about the newbie dude?

Love to hear your thoughts on this?

Hi,
this is not so easy. We have many different installations out there. /usr/local/nagios might be the default for user compiled installations, but there are also different distribution locations. I doubt that everyone likes the system to be scanned for the nagios binary file, there might be more security risks than goodies.

NagiosQL is not aiming the newbies, you definitely need some basic understanding of Nagios and also the ability to read the manual

It hard to find a way between noobs and pro's. It's always... Thanks for the ideas, we will discuss them internally.

Cheers,
