[solved] Database deleted 8 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 0
Hello, I´m using Debian Lenny, and installed nagiosql using Wolfgang Barth debian package.
Everything was working perfectly, but i accidentally deleted the nagiosql database in mysql. Configuration and everything are still in the system.

What is the best way to proceed ?, is there a way to re-generate the database ? Re-install from scratch ? Thanks!.

By the way, is there a way to change the behavior of restart nagios button in nagiosql, because i think it runs /etc/init.d/nagios3 restart, and i want it to do a /etc/init.d/nagios3 reload

Thanks!

There are two ways. You can use the installer script for rebuilding the database, or you use the SQL file which is shipped with the distribution (i am not sure about the actual path, but you can find it be searching for *.sql files).

The Nagios reload function just send a RELOAD command to the Nagios' command pipe file. The init script is not used.

Using the installer would be probably the best way, because there are some database modifications after the installer completed the configuration process.
