[solved] Nagios daemon is not running, cannot .... 2 Years, 2 Months ago

Hi, NagiosQL
I just installed NagiosQL few days ago. Everything went fine during installation, no errors at all.
I have imported my nagios config files and alle files are "up to date". However, when I go into Tools > Nagios Control and hit the "Restart Nagios" button (after checking config files) I get the following error message:
Nagios daemon is not running, cannot send restart command!
Nagios is running, and I can't see any error messages in any logs. The external_commands in nagios.cfg is set to 1
Hope you can help
/terje

Just found out..
NagiosQL is looking for /var/run/nagios/nagios.pid file.. However, nagios is using /usr/local/nagios/var/nagios.lock file..
Just make a link from /var/run/nagios.pid which points to /usr/local/nagios/var/nagios.lock,,,

Hi,
that's why you can set the lock or pidfile in the settings. The files is in some distributions a .pid and in others .lock.
Cheers,

Where can this be changed? I don't see any place to change where to find the pid file under the nagiosql admin->Administration->Settings

Hello everyone,
I have the similar problem. I installed the nagiosql from the ZIP file. Followed the instructions and everything seems to work just fine...
Except the "Restart Nagios" button. I have the same error message:
"Nagios daemon is not running, cannot send restart command!"
The nagios is running fine. I tried to follow terje_rt's advise but I have the PID file. I have no .lock file. The path to the PID file is correct however I still get the error message.
Any ideas ?
Thanks.
