NagiosQL on 3.01? 2 Years, 5 Months ago Karma: 0
I'm assuming that the current stable release of NagioSQL won't configure Nagios 3.0.1, correct?

I see that development of a 3.x version of NagioSQL is underway,
but I wasn't sure if that meant that NagioSQL 2.x would not support Nagios 3.0.1...or if 3.x NagioSQL simply had better features, etc.

I note that Nagios 3.0.1 has /objects/ in the cfg file paths, whereas Nagios 2.X appears not to, based on the directions I've seen..

Hi,

the current NagiosQL 2.0.2 version supports Nagios 3 without using the latest features. Config files will be written in Nagios 2 syntax which is compatible in Nagios 3. The objects path will be empty, but you don't need NagiosQL to write files to this directory.

cheers

Is there a timescale for Nagios v3 support?

Cheers!

No, there is no timeline at the moment. We are currently working hard on NagiosQL 3 which will support the new Nagios 3 features. NagiosQL 3 will include major changes, besides Nagios 3 features there is also an Installer, Multi-Language Support and a redesign planned. If you need a faster solution there are two ways:

Thanks for the good hard work for this, it really save our a** sitting in front of the screen for setting up > 200 servers for this.

I have checked on the www.nagiosql.org/index.php/component/con...0-nagiosql3-devshots and it did says that on the "Update from 2.x", would this means that will be an upgrade path for 2.x to 3.x even if we have loaded 2.x on the Nagios 3.x at the moment? Just would like to make a confirmation on this

Hi,
the Upgrade is for NagiosQL 2.x. It means that your NagiosQL will be upgraded to the latest NagiosQL 3.x version. No matter what kind of Nagios Version is running. This has to be configured after the upgrade is done.

Cheers,
