Both files dates (from the file system) are from after the config change. I've been issuing both write commands ('monitoring data' and the 'additional data' ) during testing.

After deactivating a host I get this response at the bottom of the hosts page:

The associated, now obsolete, configuration files were deleted successfully!

That was done at 4/7/09 10:58 AM PST.

After waiting a couple of minutes and using both write commands, here are my time stamps from the file system:
